Wild Imagination Group Gives a Spook-tacular Fall Reading

In November, the students of the Wild Imagination writing group gave their end of term reading. They read from a collection of their own creation called Eight Stories, Eight Rooms: Tales from the McDowell House. Each participant in the group wrote a ghost story set in one of the eight rooms of the house. The stories were read before the Salmon House’s large colonial dollhouse that is a replica of a historic plantation house in Virginia.

What a Character!

Our Wild Imagination group for elementary school writers is in full swing. Last week we talked about the elements of a story. This week we will be building unforgettably fun characters, and creating surprise twists in familiar characters like this big guy:IMG_4490IMG_4509

What if Big Foot is hard to find because he has very important work that keeps him at the North Pole?
